Brenda & Cory Davis and Anthony Marr's January 2004 CARE Tour Visit
Canadians Brenda Davis, dietitian and nutritionist, and Anthony Marr, wildlife preservationist known for his international work to save tigers, visited NC during their 7-month, 40-state Compassion for Animals Road Expedition, focusing on education about eco-friendly and healthy lifestyles, with compassion for animals. They traveled with a "CARE-a-van", consisting of a 21' RV and a 9' trailer equipped with the 54" "Raw Truth TV" displaying a variety of videos related to diet and compassion. See a press release and flyers for Anthony's presentation and Brenda's presentation.
Brenda Davis gave two presentations during the week. (They are available in PDF format; you'll need Adobe Reader to view them.) See her talks "Cutting Edge Vegetarian Nutrition" (3 MB in size) and "Eating For Life" (2 MB).
We had a dinner at Spice Street Restaurant in Chapel Hill, with a menu of Winter Vegetable Broth with Carrot Coulis, Italian Bread Salad, Pad Thai With Chefs choice Of Vegan sides, and Fresh Fruit With Mint & Black Pepper.
We had a group of about 28 who ate, then enjoyed Brenda's talk.
Jerry Cook from Virginia drove Brenda down from his lovely Outer Banks home. You can see him, the CARE gang, and Dilip here.

While Brenda, Anthony, and Cory were here, we captured a few short approximately 1-minute audio clips with them. You can click on each of the following links to download and listen to .wav files of about 650 KB in size, constituting the conversations.
Brenda discussed optimal nutrition (part 1 and part 2), the benefits of using vegetarian sources for omega 3 fatty acids, and reflected on recent news about "Mad Cow" disease. Anthony talked about his book, Omni-Science and the Human Destiny, shared his prognosis on the future of tiger habitat, and discussed work he is doing regarding hunting and endangered species. Finally, Cory shared his perspective on the CARE tour. It was an honor and pleasure having them visit us!
