The Triangle Vegetarian Society (TVS) is pleased to announce its 14th annual Thanksgiving feast and raffle will be held at Cafe Parizade in Durham on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 22, from 11:30 am through 5:00 pm. In addition, we are offering a pre-Thanksgiving feast at Washington Duke Inn also in Durham, the Sunday before Thanksgiving from noon to 5:00 pm.

Cafe Parizade is one of the Triangle's finest restaurants with a gourmet flair for fresh ingredients with Mediterranean influences. Executive Chef Robert Adams has a well-deserved very strong reputation among peers and the dining public, and has proven over and over for TVS his passion for creating fabulous meals.

Washington Duke Inn is a four-diamond hotel and restaurant. Executive Chef Jason Cunningham is widely known beyond the Triangle area of North Carolina. He is one of about two dozen chefs featured in Great Chefs Cook Vegan, a book that challenged top chefs to create gourmet vegan multi-course meals.

Since 2004 with an attendance of 360, this annual event has become the largest vegetarian Thanksgiving in the country, attracting national attention. In 2011, we had 876 attendees from at least 50 cities in 12 states. Regulars and new attendees are again expected this year.

The all-inclusive price is $23.50 for TVS members, $27 for non-members, $7 for children ages 5-10, and free for children under 5. Reservations are required and can be made online at www.trianglevegsociety.org/thanksgiving starting on Saturday, November 3.

Our Cafe Parizade menu, subject to change, is expected to include the following dishes. (All dishes will be strictly vegan with no animal, egg or dairy products. No honey or white sugar will be used.)

(SF = soy free, GF = gluten free, NAF = no added fats)

As in previous years, we will have a generous raffle with prizes ranging from gift certificates from area businesses to cases of whole food products, fine chocolates, non-animal gardening fertilizers, and much more.
